Anniversary Poem to Jared

When I met you
I knew you were the one
not by the things we shared in common
but by the things we couldn't fathom about one another
Your wit was so thick that it stopped me in my tracks
I had to actually rewind my mind and take a few steps back
Growing up I had my ideas of romance and the "perfect life"
and I'm sure you had your thoughts of what the "perfect wife" would be like
When God placed the two of us together
He devised a perfect plan
One that would withstand
He couldn't make anything less than
May 7, 2004 was the day that my heart dropped to the floor.
I asked God, is this the one you want me to soar with?
The one I'm supposed to adore?
"There are no mistakes in this union!" He roared.
And His voice, I couldn't ignore
Fast forward to this day in time
Throughout the continents, from Germany to the states
And we still shine together
What we have is straightforward and forever
It's unaltered by the strains of space or time
Fifteen years of loving you, Jared
and I still want more of you
I just can’t spare it.
