Keeping It Real

If you come to me, I'm going to keep it real
My elevation has brought me up out of the darkness to place above the mess
Now I view things for what they are, not for what's promised to me
The God Source is my guide, and this keeps me grounded in my faith
anything else is just for play
your words and the things you say
they'll never stay with me
I'll take them for what they are, "words" trying to provoke an action
yet, with no satisfaction.
I've visited this place before, but this time I've come to stay
because I appreciate it so much more now-a-days
I've been waiting in the valley for way too long
and the view up here is just too strong to let go of . . .
I can't live life any more by someone else's say
It's on me how I choose to move about the floor
to explore my choices and to decide if I want to close a door
to move past even this space, and on to a place better than before
This is a part of the elevation, you see
which makes me operate even more efficiently
It's easy to tell someone what they should be doing
by exerting your power to bring about your order
Tell me, what does your need to control have to do with my life and this stroll that I'm on?
My path is unique to my being
the only thing written that gives light to my situation resides inside my heart and soul
not on the scrolls of your mind or soul
Respect my sight (vision), acknowledge my flight (ascension), then take a step back
and recognize my plight (predicament).
