Rising Above Earthly Limitations

The last few weeks has been very challenging for me on so many levels. It feels like a storm was in motion, which I was not prepared for. I've had to improvise along the way in my attempt to seek shelter. But this time, I didn't mind if I got a little wet. I didn't rush inside like I normally would. It's almost like, I needed to feel the rain so that it would remind me of the limitations I face from time to time. My need to make everything perfect was weighing on my soul.

I think the storm was to help me remember that a lot of what I experience is to guide me in appreciating where I come from and what I currently have. It's like taking an inventory of resources and learning how to operate differently. We get so caught up in the routine of doing, that our situation glitches to change our track. Sometimes we just go, go, go, that we forget to stop and look at what we do on a daily basis to maintain our current status. In essence, we take for granted our own selves and the energy and hard work we devote to making our lives functional and livable day to day. We forget that we are human as we try to turn over and produce, produce, produce.

When the storm comes, it's like grandma telling me, "Girl, come in this house turn off those lights and that television and we are just going to sit here until it passes." And while we sit, we are going to add up the blessings we received, before we can be blessed with more.

I believe that everything in life is energy. But there is something to be said about putting work into something and appreciating the work placed into it, it's two fold. I think there needs to be a balance between these two things "energy and effort" and "time and appreciation". Planting seeds and looking at your harvest.

Genesis 2-4 says, "Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing. So on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done."

The incubation period is the time that we can look at the fruits of our labor and watch them grow into fruition. How could we appreciate our hard work if we don't stop to look at it? This is the question on my heart today.

Look at where you come from, acknowledge those on your journey who were placed there to support you, give thanks and show gratitude for the experience.

You can do this by:

1. Viewing the concept of "limitations" as a natural human emotion. When we fall short, we naturally look at it as a fault. As something we've done wrong. But if we view it as a time to stop, take inventory, and look at the seeds we planted, we can look at the rain as the incubation period of growing our fruits.

2. You can't prepare for everything. In these instances, improvise by use of resources. Learn to think outside the box.

3. Look at it as a tool for reminding us that we can always improve upon something. Change the way you are doing a particular task to maximize it.

4. Show your appreciation to those who have helped you along the way and to yourself for your tireless dedication. Gratitude speeds up manifestations.
