The Energy Shift

I'm not insensitive, it's just the balance that you see

moving from behind the scene, up into a space where it can be seen

All that other stuff was just a covering of me

I've said it before and I will say it many times over

I walked out of the dark

and this has amplified my spark

You see, I'm not settling any more

Your offer. . . I closed the door on it,

and all the remains of it are on the floor

Excuse me, as I walk over it

and into a space of what I need to succeed

You must know, in here . . . it only vibes with what I stand for

There's a change in the energy you see

it went from hanging on to your every word to

respecting me

You had your chance to show your worth

I don't know what you were waiting for

or was it a part of the game?

To make me question myself

and what we stood for?

Like a fool, over and over I accepted your challenge

But now, I've surrendered from the battle.

I will not wait on you in vein

I pull my hopes and dreams and things

away from your grasp

It feels great to have my power back

and free myself from your tendencies to try to pull me back

and all this time you thought I lacked

what it took for me to take it back
